Training Workshops 2010
BPEX have secured funding from Yorkshire Forward for the training of pig unit personnel, in support of this training initiative Garth has hosted a series of very successful training workshops (see reviews), covering all aspects of the pig production cycle.
More workshops are planned in the New Year and these can be tailor-made to suit the particular training needs of your staff or business.
Aimed at stock people/managers with good levels of experience and knowledge the workshops will be a mixture of practical and technical learning. The intention is to provide knowledge that will relate to your personal farm situations, all leading to improvements in health, welfare and productivity within your business.
All course materials will be provided so all you need to bring is yourself and your knowledge.
We hope you will join us in supporting this industry initiative and send your unit staff along to the workshops. The funding criteria states that the free of charge training must be utilized by businesses in the Yorkshire and Humberside geographical region, however for those wanting to attend these workshops from outside the region or those wanting to hold individual training, funding is available, so don't let that be a limiting factor.
Previous workshops have covered the following material:
The Gilt - Management and Integration
The Dry Sow and Service Management
The Farrowing House
The Grower and Finisher
The Grower and Finisher - Management and Care
The Safe and Effective Use of Medicines
If you are interested in the above and would like to attend or send a member of your staff please contact Christine, Gemma or Ian at the practice.
