The Pig Issue - October 2009
Worming It’s that time of year again. It is important to worm sows regularly, and to use a broad spectrum anthelmintic such as Flubenol that eliminates larvae as well as mature worms and all nematodes, not just ascarids. Loose housing and solid floored systems help the spread of worms, so use a disinfectant capable of attacking the worm eggs after cleaning out your yards. One approved for use in poultry houses is best for this purpose, or a horticultural flame gun if the structure is suitable.
